PACIFIC LNG

Australia Pacific LNG is a coal seam gas (CSG) to liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant on Curtis Island, off the shore of Queensland, near Gladstone.

The plant delivers a cleaner, more sustainable energy source with a estimated total project cost of $24.7bn.

THE CHALLENGE

Forge group entrusted the team with managing installation and assuring two 156,000m3 storage tanks on time to allow the processing facility to develop sufficient storage of liquified natural gas and allow LNG tankers to deliver to Asia.

THE WORK

IPMA implemented a new handover process with integrated inspectors working with the site team to guide them on how to best progress the installation to meet the client’s requirements.

The implementation of this new process over time resulted in inspections the work being planned and completed ahead of time. and signed off progressively and as well as earlier. As the client began to gain confidence in what IPMA had implemented with the on-site teams, they wanted to see less inspections until we were further progressed – this resulted in less paperwork and greater portions signed off at once.

THE RESULT

The methods implemented by IPMA resulted in overcoming a pre-existing six-month delay and having the work completed ahead of time.
